Ghostbusters’ included in Library of Congress National Film Registry

Van Reitman’s horror comedy movie Ghostbusters’ is added into the selves of the library of the congress National Film Registry. This movie that is starring the Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd is the great comedy movie with the spice of horror.

The movie which starts with the ghost in the library now has been added in the library as the most extraordinary film. The director of the movie revealed that it is great honor and privilege to know that my movie is the part of the gem collection of the movies in the Library. This movie has been preserved on the shelves of the motion pictures like “Top Gun,” “L.A. Confidential” and “The Shawashank Redemption.”

Even 24 other classical movies has been announced to be add in the National Film Registry including the,” Hal Ashby’s comedy-drama about an oracular gardener; the Douglas Sirk melodrama “ and Imitation of Life. The new release of the National Film Registry said that all these movies are being added to the library because these are epitomize the diversity and richness of the heritage of culture and history of the nation so these are required to be preserved.

Even Mao added further to it “selecting any movie for the National Film Registry identifies its importance for the cinemas and even for the cultural and artistic history.”

There are specific rules for the selection of the movie for library as the movie must be at least 10 years old depending on the titles like Hollywood blockbusters, fictions, documentaries, silent movies and independent and experimental movies and Librarian makes the annual registry selections after consulting with the members of the NFPB and the staff of film library from the thousands of the nominations of the film for registry. This year’s selection of 25 movies including the Ghostbusters’ the number of the movies registered has increased to 675 for the year span 1894-1997.
